![]() If they ever make an episode 3 I hope that they will flesh out the story even more and will add more of those explorative sections instead of focusing on just more FPS action. The second half of the mod (episode 2) can be a bit confusing at times because of the level layout and I wish more narrative moments would be put in this second part of the game. I was so impressed with it that I found the action parts sometimes a bit less engaging and wanted to continue the narrative to see where the story would head towards. This is great since it always amounts to great world building and I was very impressed with all the narrative sections this mod had to offer. That means that in between the action there is plenty of narrative and moments of environmental storytelling. I have plenty of pleasant memories of playing it and was surprised to find out that one of the most impressive mods I have ever seen was made for this.ĭoom 3 Phobos tries to reimagine Doom in the style of narrative based FPS games like Half-Life. updated With the two remaining Hell Priests in hiding, you must return to the forsaken sentinel city of Exultia. ![]() You will be transported straight to the next mission, Sentinel Prime.Today we have something very special as we are about to archive an awesome mod for Doom 3! Doom 3 is a classic FPS that came out right at the end period of the golden age of FPS games. This will be the first mission you do not transfer back to the Fortress of doom before doing the next mission. This will finish the mission and transport you to Sentinel Prime. Once you finish off the demons in the area the gate will open, letting you access the portal to Sentinel Prime. Once the doom hunter shows up, focus on getting him off his shield barge, then return to spreading the love to other demons in the area. Luckily there are plenty of ways to keep moving, so focus on the demons you have the most trouble with, until the doom hunter shows up. This is a longer combat encounter and will basically throw at you every demon you have come across in Doom Eternal So far. Once you reach the escape pods, you will now have access to the surface of mars and the portal to Sentinel Prime.Īfter taking the escape pod you will be on the final stretch of the mission, after a short walk you will enter your last combat encounter, seeing the portal to Sentinel Prime Just focus on jumping from wall to wall, using your auto map if you need to figure out which wall is next, though the path is pretty clear. ![]() The main menu music is a remix of Opening to Hell from Doom II. It is the first since the original Doom II, as an Earth invasion sequel was never made for Doom 3, the 2004 reboot. The next section will have you do some grab wall platforming, but nothing you can't handle. Doom Eternal is to Doom (2016) as Doom II is to Classic Doom, being a retelling of the 'Hell on Earth' theme. Now that giant hole has been blown into mars, you must now make your way to the surface to gain access to the Portal. The catch is the BFG can pretty much devastate most demons in one hit, dealing massive damage to any demons it doesn't kill as well(except the Marauder). The BFG is a super weapon that uses it's own ammo and and can only store a few shots before being empty. Once the cutscene ends the Doomguy will take the guy, giving you the BFG 9000 to use now in your arsenal of weapons eventually you will reach a ladder.Ĭlimbing this will trigger a cutscene giving you access to the BFG 10,000 to shoot a hole into mars. use the pistons in the room to reach the top marked by your hud.Ĭontinue to follow the marker through the building, killing any demons in your way. Once the demons are cleared out the marker will point you to a hatch that opens up you can drop into to sneak into the base from under it. When he appears, focus on getting him off his barge first to remove his shield, then you can start to thin out other enemies, returning to him when you are stocked up on health and ammo. You will also face a Doom Hunter once again. The best option for taking them down is the Ballista, which excels at fighting flying demons. ![]() ![]() Though it looks similar to the Cacaodemon, the Pain Elemental is much stronger and doesn't have the same grenade swallowing weakness. ![]()
